Impact on Special Education Costs
It is estimated that Special Education services cost nearly $27,000 per year per child, almost three times the cost of educating a child without disabilities.
Neurofeedback has demonstrated an ability to improve all of these concerns. While neurofeedback may not necessarily result in a child no longer needing any services, it should allow the child to succeed in a less restrictive environment. For instance, a child who needs a full-time behavioral aid could function with a daily check-in. A child needing placement in an alternative school or treatment program could succeed in their regular school with supportive services. Moving to a less restrictive environment is better for the child and significantly reduces costs.
